Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/26/2021

Number: 1

A male Ruby-throated hummingbird came to my feeder in my garden about 7pm. This is the same spot that I have put my hummingbird feeder for many years. I was sitting on a bench talking on my phone and he flew toward me, paused about 3 feet from me, then went back to the feeder which was a couple of feet behind the hummingbird. It was as if he thought I was talking to him! I had put two feeders out the day before. I use 1/4 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water as food. He then flew up to a branch, sat for a few minutes, then flew away. I did not see him or others the rest of the evening.
