I cannot 100% confirm it was a monarch. I’ve put a call out on Twitter and a Facebook monarch page in our town. The colors looked correct, though I didn’t see the tops of its wings. A commentator on Twitter thought the silhouette looked correct. It lit on a flowering sugar maple
