Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 05/01/2021

Number: 1

Saw my first Monarch butterfly for 2021 today at noon, it looked faded. I could not see if male or female? It was fluttering fast looking for nectar or milkweed. I have 2 - 12" tall common milkweed plants that I ordered from an organic nursery in pots on my deck. I will check them later for the possibility of eggs. Our local common milkweed is 2" above ground. Today is sunny and 55 degrees. This is a very early sighting. The earliest for my habitat in more than 15 years. Ellen
