This is a follow-up photo to my Monarch Adult Sighted report. This is the bright-winged, young male monarch seen in the early afternoon today (between light rain showers). He is nectaring from self-heal flowers (Prunella vulgaris) ~ which were his favorite today. I think both he (and the young female monarch nectaring in the near area with him) are going to be heading north very soon ~ just filling up with some needed nectar for the journey. Glad to have a little time with them!
