This is a follow-up photo to my Monarch Adult Sighted report. This beautiful female monarch is nectaring on flowering milkweed (Asclepias viridis). She was hard to get a photo of as she flew around quite speedily, only pausing to nectar from the milkweed flowers, which seemed to be her favorite nectar plant. I saw her this afternoon along with quite a few other monarchs. She was the brightest of the bunch ~ a very young monarch just starting out!
