This is a follow-up photo to my Monarch Adult Sighted report. This is a photo of one of the monarchs who was nectaring on the tall prairie plantains this afternoon. The nectar from these tiny golden flowers really attracts the monarchs... and other butterflies, bees, beetles, and more. This male monarch has wings that are not faded, but not bright either ~ just a healthy looking fellow. It was such a mix of young and elder monarchs today. He seemed right in the middle.
