Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/05/2021

Number: 1

My second grade class planted two milkweed plants several weeks ago outside out classroom. Yesterday we saw our first butterfly, a monarch. She hovered around the plants for a couple hours but was gone when. School dismissed. When searching for eggs, we found eggs and larvae, but my friend tells me the larvae are queen butterflies. Obviously the tiny larvae didn’t come from the butterfly in the picture I took yesterday.
