Milkweed (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/06/2021

Number: 1

Today was a sunny 12°C. After reading about early arrivals of both Monarchs and milkweed I went out to check our pollinator garden. Sure enough there were sprouts coming up! It is our common milkweed species here in Québec: Asclepias syriaca. We have seeds sprouting in planters that we left out all winter, as well as, last year’s plants sprouting new growth. We will be ready for our Monarch butterflies when they get here!
