We had a single female quite frantically touching down on plants in search of her host. She laid most of her eggs between two 3-3.5” plants that were just breaking ground (about 40 on each!). There were many other plants, but she didn’t seem to find the others until a day or two later. We had just had a cold snap, and the milkweed was growing more slowly.
