Sightings report image

Date: 05/23/2021

Number: 1

One female. I first saw near my patch of butterflyweed [orange milkweed], before it flew to perch in my red oak. I am assuming it grew up in that patch as one of four caterpillars I last saw on May 8 when they were about 2 inches long, and has recently emerged from its chrysalis. I never could find a chrysalis, but I assumed they were hidden in a safe place nearby.
