Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 05/27/2021

Number: 75

I have given away 72 monarch catepillars on May 25-27th to locals in La Jolla, CA that had milkweed. They were eating me out of house and home. I have 4 chrysalis that have made it thus far and looking forward to them hatching. Currently monarchs ( 2-3) on flowers but no leaves to put eggs on. HOpe leaves replenish before summer. Native thin leafed milkweed is not working for eggs and catepillars. not strong enough to support anything. Where I have placed "foster" catepillars there are also a large number of their own. So seems to be ding well her in Southern CA
