These first group of season 2021 seven (7) Chrysalis are from the first aprox 15 Monarch Larvae of 2021 season observed and previously reported. These chrysalis were 100% wild, naturally raised Monarch Caterpillar larvae raised in residential garden on native narrow leaf milkweed .375 from Pacific Ocean as the crow flies.When these seven (7) chrysalis became very last stage larvae, they were re-located into butterfly netted environment to protect from predators. One (1) to two (2) days later they became the seven (7) Chrysalis photographed. (Originally nine (9) late stage larvae were placed on leaves into net on leaves. Two (2) fell onto bottom of netted area when soft, not fully formed. The remaining six (larvae of original 15 were not observed in late stage form and whereabouts and life are unknown. Hence, of 2021’s original group of 15 larvae, seven (7) have made it to chrysalis stage and are in this photo.
