After collecting a few black Swallowtail eggs, I was hopeful that the Monarchs would show up soon. Yesterday was cold and an all day rain. Its pretty windy today so I was very pleasantly surprised to see our first Monarch. It flew across our backyard as if to let me know they found their way back to
SE Michigan.
We have one perennial milkweed plant and twenty-two annuals from last years seeds. There will be lots of plants for egg laying and caterpillars to feast on. Hopefully 2021 will be very productive and we can increase their population.
