Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 05/29/2021

Number: 1

We were outside and heard a red-tailed hawk screech and saw it fly into the pines at the edge of the lawn in the backyard. Then, we looked up and saw the bald eagle following it closely in the air and then it landed in the tree where the red-tailed hawk was shooed away from. It stayed there for about 5-10 minutes, just watching outwards towards the wetlands as the crows, hawks, and various other birds screeched and cawed, alike. Eventually, the bald eagle turned towards the house and took off flew mere feet above our house. It was absolutely breathtaking and a true honor.
