Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 05/27/2021

Number: 1

A very friendly male black chinned hummingbird was flapping around the window in front of the feeder this week in the afternoon.
For about two weeks, a female ruby throated hummingbird has been feeding. She's very quick and timid and usually visits early morning and evening. We had a late spring and frost, but put out empty feeders so they would spot them, and we could then go run and boil some water & sugar for syrup. Glad they are visiting finally!! Marvel red hibuscus is coming up and will bloom soon. They especially love and frequent the red miniature trumpet vine which hopefully will be spreading quickly & blooming everywhere.
