Sightings report image

Date: 06/03/2021

Number: 2

I saw this butterfly in the photo at 3pm outside the Swamis Meditation Garden in Encinitas(the garden is closed). It was flying in and out, in a circle over the wall. It looks like a faded male. It landed briefly on an oleander flower before flying back in to the garden. The gardener said he frequently sees them there and that they do grow milkweed. It was a cloudy 66F light breeze day.
The second Monarch I saw cross the campground at 4:30 (2 miles further south). Could Neither get a photo or a good look.
