The 22 chrysalises I left on about 20 May have done their thing and gone.

Meanwhile, another 20 caterpillars in cages milkweed went through the entire chrysalis phase and left while we were away.

So, the ‘second wave’ in my backyard produced about 65 cats, then 42 chrysalises (paper wasps accounted for a lot of the loss) and then 39 successful adults.
