I visited the ice ramp on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. This has long been a 20x20 beautiful patch of milkweed that often harbors monarchs, it is the largest publicly accessible patch on the island outside of DJ Parker's property. I was mortified to find the milkweed and surrounding plants nearly destroyed. Sadly, it appears the township has been spraying and this patch may be gone for good.
