Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/09/2021

Number: 2

This is the earliest I have seen monarchs in northern CT. Both were feeding from clover in a hay field. Interestingly, the first monarch was chased away by a very small orange butterfly -- maybe a Long Dash -- like a small bird harassing a hawk.
