Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/15/2021

Number: 11

We had a good rainfall overnight. Today was cool and windy with clear skies late in the afternoon and evening.

Found these eggs on my milkweed patch early this evening and promptly brought them in for hand rearing. All 11 eggs are viable after viewing under microscope. Thrilled to see the Monarch mother found our patch.

The young will be cared for scrupulously outdoors but protected from the other insects that prey on them.
