For over an hour, I watched an adult female Monarch in excellent condition flying around my yard in Tempe, AZ. She was nectaring on Gregg's Mistflower and laying eggs on Asclepias curassavica. It is unusual to see them active here in the heat of the summer with afternoon temperatures above 112 or more.
