I'm alarmed at how few Monarchs I'm seeing this year!

I'm growing milkweed but have no new eggs now. Two weeks ago I saw only one lone Monarch. I watched her lay her eggs and I clipped the whole milkweed plants with an egg and put them in my two habitats. This happened two more times.

I kept 11 milkweeds with eggs and I gave away 5 milkweeds with an egg to a friend. My friend released his first butterfly yesterday and I released my first two days ago. I have milkweed now, but no new eggs and I see no butterflies.
