I observed a male and female monarchs at 307 S State Street (US Hwy 23) in Harrisville on Common Milkweed plant at 1 PM. I had not observed monarchs at this location earlier this year. As I walked through downtown Harrisville at 1:15 PM, I counted 12 monarchs flying and nectaring on some white flowered spirea. Incredibly, all were males! No monarchs were seen on these spirea flowers earlier this year. All of the above monarchs were very brightly colored. Weather was partly cloudy with the Wind SE-6 mph, and the Temperature was 74F.
