Repeated sightings of a male monarch on common milkweed flowers, lantana, and resting on rose, rhubarb, and hazelnut plants. He appears to be guarding the territory, which is certainly a very nice "monarchy." There's a good chance that he's captive-raised, since this neighborhood is a hotbed of monarch hobbyists. I did release a male myself the day before.
