Observed first two adult Monarch Butterflies of 2021 in Amherst, New York. It was windy and the two adults were located in a small grove of trees and shrubs, adjacent to a grassy, weedy field, likely avoiding the windy conditions. Monarchs seem to be few and far between this year so far. Observed a nice hatch of Viceroy butterflies a few weeks ago, however.
