We raised 11 monarchs from egg last summer. This year we are doing the same. 12 chrysalis already and 7 more cats. The interesting thing is that I have only one milkweed plant in a pot, but an adult appeared 3 weeks ago ..our spring.and laid numerous eggs on this one plant and has been fluttering around my garden most sunny days ever since. Looking a little ragged. Could it be that adults migrate back to where they were hatched? (I have to get milkweed to feed the cats from roadways that will be mowed eventually since one plant won't feed these voracious caterpillars) .
