Looked out the window and saw both the male and female Rubies on same feeder. The top of the feeder is a skosh less than 4.75 inches across. He simply stared at her while she was drinking the fresh nectar. There is another feeder, about 5 feet away that also had fresh nectar in it, but went unused. The only thing I can think of is they may feel more secure at one over the other. Usage rates show popularity. The feeders are all identical.
I attempted a photo, but, as expected, it came out fuzzy - through an old window and not conducive to accuracy.
Prior to the above, I had an opportunity to watch the male for a reasonable amount of time. He has a white bar at the edge of his wing. It shows when his wing is down and is quite pronounced. I don't recall seeing that before.
