I have cattail seedheads stuck into containers and windowboxes around the yard. Mostly, it's the female goldfinches that collect the fluff, but today, July 4th, a hummingbird stopped on one of the cattails just below a feeder and appeared to to be gathering some fluff. It seems late for nesting, so I wonder if she was collecting some to cushion neatlings.
