I decided to walk over to the Loggers Trace Golf Course near my house to count the monarchs that should be the 3rd generation emerging since June 30th. From 11:30 AM to 12:05 PM, I observed and counted 70 monarchs. They were very brightly colored and fresh looking. There is a lot of milkweed plants in bloom throughout the edges of the course. Weather was mostly sunny and hazy with the Wind SW-10 mph, and the Temperature was 82F. This new location I will check again in the coming years around Independence Day.
