Monarch Egg Sighted

Date: 07/08/2021

Number: 2

Only the second sighting of butterflies of 2021 but they were busy depositing eggs around the yard until the rain came. In a lull I looked around and found five eggs.

Perfect timing, frustrated by the lack of Monarch traces this year I just ordered ten larva from a PA breeder. They should arrive about when the first wild eggs hatch. Plenty to protect by rearing indoors.

Rain prevented picture taking of butterflies. Camera quality prevented egg pictures.
