See my photo. This IMPERIAL MOTH appeared on the porch brick wall by the front door late morning. It stayed for most of the day, undisturbed and safe from the occasional rain showers until it disappeared as quietly as it arrived. I was able to hold a ruler underneath to measure the wingspan. It was 4 inches (or 10 cm) across. The colours indicate it was a female. The largest moth in Ontario! Quite beautiful and a wonderful sight!
