Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/05/2021

Number: 1

Throughout most of last week and on and off this week, I have had a regular visitor to my garden. Mommy Monarch laid about 80 eggs that I could find on my various milkweed plants.

To recap, in may, the first monarch who visited laid about 15 eggs, but they seemed to be sickly and non survived.
My next monarch laid about 50 or 60 eggs and about half survived. Two fell in the chrysalis phase and did not make it. There’s been heavy rain here in NYC. So far I have about 38 looking good!

In my garden, this has been a very prosperous year!
