While visiting Allegany State Park, my husband and I checked an area created for pollinating insects. There is a large field filled with various sun loving plants with common milkweed in abundance. Educational signs are posted along the trails about the importance of pollinators. A special emphasis is placed on monarch butterflies.
The milkweed blooms are fresh.
The day was warm and calm with sun and clouds.
I saw just one monarch adult siping nectar, a male.
