Came home this afternoon on July 11, 2021 to find 3 monarchs swirling around my head examining butterfly plants planted in my backyard (black eye Susan's, daisies and yellow cone flowers) that haven't yet bloomed. They were fighting over my swamp milkweed...also planted in my back yard.

Last year I only saw one monarch adult, lots of eggs and one monarch caterpillar that I brought inside for safety until it could be released as a butterfly.
