First Monarch seen this year was a female and layed at least 10 eggs on Purple Milkweed plants about a foot high. I am near the NH White Mountains. She may have layed more on other kinds of milkweed there but I just checked the Purple milkweed, what I observed her laying eggs. Way too much activity on the flowers of other milkweeds so she ovoided those except for nectaring on the Butterfly milkweed.
