With the park ranger's permission, I collected 12 eggs on June 14 because they were at risk of being mowed. 11 hatched. I reared them to the chrysalis stage, then returned the chrysalids to the park visitor center for visitors to observe. Yesterday 9 monarch butterflies were released. The final two will be released tomorrow after their wings have dried thoroughly. Way Station 9419
