Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/18/2021

Number: 3

We have seen very few monarchs this season. Today was the first time that I’ve seen 2 monarchs at the same time. We have two varieties of milkweed, the “common” type and a hybrid (with only yellow flowers). The caterpillars all seemed healthy.

We had an unusually cold winter which, I think, affected both the monarchs and the milkweed.
