Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 07/19/2021

Number: 6

6 of my 30 2nd Gen monarchs emerged.
All seemed healthy and ready to go.
I originally had around 45 eggs and caterpillars, but only 30 made it to the chrysalis stage for various reasons.

1 emerged deformed, not sure if it was a disease or overcrowding, but I euthanized that one.
Another, although seemingly no imperfections seems to be unable to fly, but is living in my garden.

Eggs are everywhere. I have a daily visit from one or two monarchs depositing eggs and enjoying the garden.
I am also seeing swallowtails, although not as often.
Some painted ladies too.
