Female or juvenile ruby-throated hummingbird nectaring from Salvia microphylla "Hot Lips."

This has been the number one nectar plant for hummingbirds in our yard. It doesn't have to be deadheaded, it can overwinter indoors, and it is super easy (and 100% legal) to grow from cuttings.
