as I was driving north, I saw 1 adult monarch fly east across the highway: I almost hit it, but it dodged above my right front corner. a few miles south of Encino. about 3:00 PM; warm, but mostly cloudy. occasional patches of Asclepias subverticillata were evident along highway margins
