11 monarchs were seen along C001, up to the Lone Tree Bible Ranch, northeast of the town of Capitan. The roadsides were lined with flowering horsetail milkweed. Several patches of broadlef milkweed also were seen (not flowering). The monarchs were not seen nectaring or alighting on the vegetation, but, rather, they were flying low over the fields. No photos.
