About 5:15 pm saw monarch circling established swamp milkweed in my backyard. She fluttered around base of large milkweed, many smaller milkweed around base. Bees, wasps at top of large milkweed at blossoms, they are chasing monarchs off top half portions of established milkweed. Then saw monarch landing on small maybe 2 inch milkweed plants in my lawn, she laid an egg.
She took break at edge of bird water fountain.
I will check bottom of milkweed this evening for eggs.
Have seen monarchs at this site since June 30th.
Have collected mostly eggs and raising outside in habitats. Currently 4 chrysalis. First one formed 7/15. Fourth one this am. Eleven cats of various sizes.
