6:27pm 89 sunny degrees, winds from West at 12 M.P.H. The drought deepens but it doesn't seem to bother the Monarchs. I observed four Monarchs circling the garden. One Monarch finally rested on a red zinnia when it was dive bombed by another Monarch. Then a another pair joined the fray. They were chasing each other all over and one male Monarch kept returning to that same red zinnia. I tried to get a picture but just when I was ready to snap a picture that Monarch would take off after another Monarch and even chased after a Gold Finch.
