I noticed monarchs actively flying around the front gardens this afternoon. We have not seen very many so far this summer. As we were last year, we are again surrounded by fields of blooming clover on three sides of our property. Later in the evening we were sitting on the back porch as the sun was setting. Monarchs were active and enjoying the light breeze as they circled and flew around each other among the lower branches of the pines and maples. We have milkweed and many other nectar producing plants in the garden and also out in the front ditch.
