I was on the Mountain-Bay state bike trail for about 5 miles from its trailhead in Weston, WI and counted 25 monarch butterflies. I also counted about the same number of butterflies riding my bike around the Birch Street/Shorey Avenue area neighborhoods. Weston, WI promotes monarch butterflies with many people raising them. I run a butterfly program in a 55+ senior apartment community in Weston and we have released about 30 monarch butterflies after raising them from eggs found in the nearby fields.
