The monarch migration continues into the 2nd day! I went to the beach at Harrisville State Park along the Lake Huron shoreline and observed 12 monarchs flying in directional flight south at about 150' overhead from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. This was between thunderstorms moving though the area. The Wind was WNW-4 turning to the East at 4 mph just before I left. The Temperature was 70F. Here are the counts taken in 15 minute segments:
12:30 to 12:45 PM = 0
12:45 to 1:00 PM = 10
1:00 to 1:15 PM = 2
1:15 to 2:00 PM = 0
Total: 12
The last 2 days, I counted 100 monarchs with 23 in migration.
