Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 07/27/2021

Number: 12

Lots of monarchs flitting about today. Some laying eggs, some nectaring, some just floating along on the breeze and others guarding their territory/plants. An accurate count is difficult. Picture of the guard of the meadow blazing star. This meadow blazing star is just starting to bloom and is the first of many. This guy is working hard to protect his flower today. He kindly escorts any interlopers away. Although they are starting to gang up on him 3-4 at a time. He even escorted a paired up couple right out of his zone.

Also, last evening I had 2 paired up couples in one maple tree within two feet of each other. Many others were searching the trees for their night roosting spot.
