An adult monarch came into the back yard. It flew around and then briefly rested on trumpet vine. Then flew around more and rested on other plants. It did not nectar. It returned again several times that day. Just flew and then rested. Never saw it nectar even though we have lots of plants in flower they usually like (blue mist flower, zinnia). First seen about 11am. Weather was sunny and 91F at 11am. Could not get close enough to see gender or to take a photo. (It flew if I approached, so I did not want to disturb it while it rested.)
