Monarchs are coming through here on Kelley’s Island on a daily basis. Last Friday there were 3 in our yard that seemed to be here all day visiting milkweed frequently gathering nectar. At times two of them appeared to be playing and chasing each other. There was a strong wind out of the South the next day that may have helped carry them across Lake Erie to Canada. There have been several Monarchs sighted each day for quite a while this summer. A few years ago we had a large roost of hundreds of Monarchs in mid-September. I assume that time was as they headed back South.
