Monarch Blitz Report for 7-25-21

Observation: 1 hour

I searched approximately 7 acres of a 25 acres open field where common milkweed and various flora grow, such as Joe Pye weed, Queen Anne's Lace, bachelor button were in bloom along with some of the milkweed.

The common milkweed, clearly hundreds seen, were in various stages, some with flowers, others done flowering and a few tender shoots.

The day was sunny, breezy and around 80 degrees F.

The trees along the border of this field are often a roost site for the monarchs during the fall migration, as reported by the owner of this property.

The date on the photo file should read 7-25.
